Mrs. Sada Woods Brashear was born on October 22, 1913 in Dryhill, KY. and she passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the Mary Breckinridge-ARH Hospital in Hyden, KY. She was 98 years, 6 months and 16 days of age at the time of her passing. Sada had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. She was the Daughter of the late Lilburn Woods and the late Martha Johnson and the Wife of the late Leonard Brashear. Sada was a retired employee of the Hyden Citizens Bank & was a former stock holder. Sada was a devoted member of the Anna C. Brush Memorial United Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed arts, crafts and was an avid UK Wildcat fan.

She was preceded in death by: Parents: Lilburn & Martha Johnson Woods; Husband: Leonard Brashear; Brothers: Lloyd Bowling, Delbert Woods, Burnis Woods; Infant Brother: Roy Woods; Niece: Belinda Turner; Step-Sons: W.F. "Fred" Brashear, Edward Brashear, Byron Brashear; Step-Daughters: Virginia Roisum and Imogene Bullock.

She leaves the following relatives surviving: Sister-In-Law: Mae Woods of Hyden, KY.; Nieces & Nephews: Melissa Woods, J.L. Woods & Christine, Druella Woods & Rick, Katherine Rebecca Woods, Lloyd Bowling, Jr. and Jean Brown; a host of great nieces & nephews and great great nieces & nephews; Treasured Friend: Nancy Ann Steele.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sada Woods Brashear will be conducted on Saturday ~ May 12, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home with Greg Whitaker and Merle Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in the Keen-Woods Cemetery in Dryhill, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Casey Caldwell, Ethan Caldwell, Rick Woods and Dale Fox.
