Mr. Charles Elvin Vanover was born on July 22, 1955 in Hyden, KY. and passed away on May 20, 2012 in Hyden, KY. at the Mary Breckinridge ARH Hospital. He was 56 years of age at the time of his passing. Charles was the Son of the late Elvin Vanover and the late Helen Bowling and Husband of Vickie Wilson Vanover. By occupation he was employed by the PICI Co. being a Contractor for Bledsoe Coal Company. Charles also served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong resident of Leslie County and was a Member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ in Hyden, KY. Charles enjoyed softball, football, target shooting and enjoyed playing PlayStation.

Charles was Preceded in Death by: Parents: Elvin & Helen Bowling Vanover; Brother: Victor.

He leaves the following relative surviving: Wife: Vickie Wilson Vanover of Hyden, KY.; Son: Stephen Craig Vanover & Jamie of Cleaton, KY.; Daughter: Heidi Jessica Rose Booe & Jeremy of Rincon, GA.; Brothers: Barry Vanover & Ruby of Stinnett, KY. and Slade Vanover & Diane of Stinnett, KY.; Sister: Lois Kay Vanover Begley of Inez, KY.; Grandchildren: Tyler Vanover, Kameron Vanover, Hayden Booe and Connor Booe.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Elvin Vanover will be conducted on Thursday ~ May 24, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Hurts Creek Church of Christ in Hyden, KY. with Mack Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Vanover Family Cemetery in Hyden, KY. Full Military Rites will be performed by the Leslie County DAV Chapter #133. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Vincent Vanover and Elvin Vanover. Visitation will be on Wednesday ~ May 23, 2012 at the Church beginning at 6:00 P.M.
