Charles Jeffrey Smith

Charles Jeffrey "Jeff" Smith of Hyden, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the age of 50. Jeff was born February 25, 1968 in Hazard, KY., the son of the late, Bobby Smith & Sherry Rice Smith. Jeff had been a resident of Leslie County since 1986 had previously lived in Tennessee for a number of years. By occupation Jeff was a coal miner. He was a member of the Rockhouse Pentecostal Church in Hyden, KY. Jeff's hobbies included fishing, hunting, riding motorcyles & especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandfather, Charles Lindburgh Rice & paternal grandparents, Pearl & Susie Smith. He leaves the following relatives surviving, beloved maternal grandmother, Drucilla Combs, Hyden, KY., 1 brother, Chris Smith & wife, Jamie, Jackson, KY. & their children, Andreya, Erin & Reed, 2 sisters, Teri Davis & Tara Davis, London, KY. & their children, Shelby & Bo, aunts, Rose Morgan & Bernadine Morgan, uncles, Orville Smith, Kenneth Smith, Lonnie Rice & Dean Rice. Also a host of cousins, other relatives & friends survive.
