Wilma Wooton

Wilma Jean Wooton born April 20, 1923 departed this life on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at her residence.  She was 94 years old.  Wilma was born at Blackey, Ky., the daughter of the late Ethel Sizemore Morgan and Dan Morgan.  Wilma spent her formative years in Leslie Co. She received her Bachelors Degree from Eastern Kentucky University & was awarded her Masters Degree from Union College.   She was a resident of Ohio from 1952-1960 and returned to Leslie Co. in 1960. Wilma had a very distinguished career in education.  She retired after 38 years of service as an elementary school teacher.  Wilma was a member of the Rockhouse Baptist Church, Hyden, Ky.  Wilma devoted her life to her family & church.  Wilma was preceded in death by her husband; James Madison Wooton II, two brothers; George "Bud" Morgan, Danny Morgan, niece; Jan Morgan & nephew; Kyle Morgan.  Mrs. Wilma Jean Wooton leaves the following relatives surviving; one loving and devoted son; James Daniel Wooton & wife, Vicki of Hyden, Ky., two loving and devoted daughters; Mary Ethel Wooton of Hyden, Ky.,  Jean Anne Pennington & husband, Wilburn "Huck" of Hyden, Ky., two treasured grandchildren; James Daniel Wooton II and wife Amy, LeeAnne Wooton & Paul Turner of Hyden, Ky., one treasured great granddaughter; Lily Katherine Wooton, sisters-in-law; Rebecca Morgan & Eva Ruth Morgan, special cousin Jean S. Campbell & special caregiver; Mary Coots.
