Billy J. Horton

Billy J. Horton born August 25, 1939 departed this life on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at tthe Select Specialty Hospital, (Good Samaritan Hospital) Lexington, KY. He was 78 years old.  Bill was born at Manchester, Ky., the son of the late John M. Horton & Opha Swafford.  Bill was the co- owner and manager of his family owned business, Horton Hardware since 1960 after the retirement of his father.  Bill was a member of the Muncy Creek Baptist Church, Hyden, Ky., and had been a resident of Leslie Co. since 1946.  He was an avid fisherman, however Bill's greatest pleasure came from spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great - grandchildren and friends.  Mr. Billy Joe Horton was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; Charles Horton, Robert Horton and sister, Juanita Franks.  Mr. Billy J. Horton leaves the following relatives surviving: his loving and devoted wife to whom he was united in marriage to on April 17, 1958, Janice Gross Horton, two beloved sons; Robby Horton and wife, Marcella of Wooton, Ky., Todd Horton of Hyden, Ky., one beloved daughter; Lesley Horton of Hyden, Ky., one beloved brother; Johnny C. Horton of Hyden,Ky., seven treasured grandchildren; Jada Horton, Joey Morgan, John William Horton, Ethan Todd Horton, Tanner Horton, Kaley Horton, Sherridan Steele,  four treasured great-grandchildren; Robert Q. Horton, Max William Morgan, Mark Bruce Horton, Jackson Hayes Morgan and a host of other relatives and friends.
