Billy Ray Salyers

Billy Ray Salyers born March 17, 1948 departed this life on, Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Hazard A.R.H. Medical Center, Hazard, Ky.  He was 69 years old.  Billy Ray was born at Thousandsticks, Ky., the son of the late Alfred Gibson and Ora Osborne.  Billy Ray was a retired coal miner and was a devoted member of the Stinnett Pentecostal Church, Stinnett, Ky.  He was a life-long resident of Leslie County residing at Hyden at the time of his death.  Billy Ray enjoyed carpentry, wood working, small engine repair on weed eaters & lawn mowers, fishing, and more importantly his greatest pleasures came from attending church and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Billy Ray was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Roscoe, Raymond & John Salyers and Herbert Woods, sisters; Ann Jones & Margaret Smallwood.  Mr. Billy Ray Salyers leaves the following relatives surviving; his loving and devoted wife, Wilma Collins Salyers of Hyden, Ky., beloved son; Keithan Ray Salyers and wife, Renee of Stinnett, Ky., beloved daughter; Makeisha Salyers - Caldwell and husband, Dean of Bear Branch, Ky., brothers; Estil Woods and wife, Carol Sue of Stinnett, Ky., Donnie Ray Gibson and wife, Sophia of Bear Branch, Ky., sisters; Alice Brown and husband, Rev. Carl Brown of Brutus, Ky.., Ruth Collins of Hyden, Ky., Janie Collins and husband, Jasper of Dayton, Ohio, Francine Caldwell and husband, Boone of Stinnett, Ky.,  four treasured grandchildren; Keigan Salyers; Kayla Roberts and husband, Jason, Lance Caldwell, Presten Caldwell, two treasured great - grandchildren, Landon Saylor, Tucker Salyers, and a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
