Vanda Saylor

Mrs. Vanda Morgan Saylor of Essie, KY. passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Wells Hospice Center, Hazard, KY. at the age of 83. Vanda was born July 16, 1934, at Essie, KY., the daughter of the late, Lawrence Morgan & Carrie Morgan. Vanda had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. Vanda had a very distinguished career in education.  She was a devoted & caring elementary school English teacher for 43 years in her beloved Leslie Co. Vanda was affliated with the Christian Missionary Alliance Church at Essie, KY. Vanda enjoyed writing, reading, gardening, sewing & spending time with her family.

Vanda was preceded in death by her parents, loving & devoted husband of 58 years, Ralph Saylor, a grandson, Bobby Garrison, a granddaughter, Randa Garrison, a sister, Lola Smith, 2 nephews, Curtis Smith & Kent Morgan. She leaves surviving her  loving & devoted daughter, Vicki Saylor Garrison & her husband, Neal of Essie, KY., 1 brother, Don Morgan & Jewell, Springboro, OH., 1 sister, Huanna Akers, Essie, KY., 1 treasured grandsons, Chase Garrison & wife, Robin of Essie, KY. & one  treasured granddaughter Rolanda Garrison, 3 treasured great granddaughters, Rhanda McKinney & Fiance', Vernon "Twang" Roach, Keylee Garrison & Brenna Garrison, 1 niece, Danita Kesterson & Ron, 5 nephews, Dwayne Smith & Rita, Greg Smith, Kelvin Morgan, Tommy Napier & Lynn & Scott Napier & Lyvonda. Also a host of great nieces & nephews, other relatives & friends survive.
