Mr. Clay Farmer of Stinnett, KY. passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center, Hazard, KY. at the age of 87. Clay was born at Stinnett, KY. on June 21, 1930, the son of the late, Clyde & Ester Smith Farmer. Clay had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation he was a coal miner, logger & carpenter. Clay also was a U.S. Veteran, he served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp in the Korean War. He was a devoted member of the Stinnett Gap Church of God. Clay enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, ginsenging, gardening, wood-working & especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Clay was preceded in death by his parents, loving & devoted wife, Alma Howard Farmer, a great granddaughter, Brenna McQueen, brothers, Hiram, Hershel & Clenn Farmer & sisters, Ethel Moore & Zola Begley. He is survived by 4 beloved sons, Bobby Farmer & Rita, Stinnett, KY. , Billy Farmer & Lisa, Stinnett, KY., Glenn Farmer & Verna, Essie, KY. & Darian Farmer, Stinnett, KY., 4 beloved daughters, Wanda Sue Caldwell & Lonnie, Stinnett, KY., Barbara Ann Collett & Dwight, Essie, KY., Janice Hacker & Henry, Stinnett, KY. & Ruth Begley & Tommy, Hyden, KY., 1 brother, Emmitt Farmer, Stinnett, KY., 1 sister, Bernice Roberts, Stinnett, KY., 16 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends survive.
FUNERAL:Friday, January 26, 2018 @ 1:00 P.M. at the Stinnett Gap Church, Stinnett, KY.
