Janice Hacker Smith

August 31, 1933 — January 9, 2018

Janice Hacker Smith, wife of the late Truman Smith, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the U.K. Medical Center, Lexington, KY. at the age of 84. She was born at Berea, KY.  on August 31, 1933, the daughter of the late Toleman Hacker and the late Emma Morgan Hacker.  She was homemaker and Co-Owner of  Smith Trucking Company. She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, walking and especially spending time with her family. Janice was affiliated with the Church of Christ and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. She was preceded in death by her parents: her loving and devoted husband; Truman Smith,  two sons; Scott Randy "Chico" Smith, Toby Smith, two brothers: Elvin and McKinley, sister: Betty Ann Morgan. She leaves the following relatives surviving, her  loving and , four beloved sons: David Smith & Linda of Hoskinston, KY, Truman Anthony Smith & Mary of Hoskinston, KY, Donnie Smith of Hoskinston, KY, Billy Smith & Deena of Hoskinston, KY, one beloved  daughter: Marietta Smith & James Ray of Stinnett, KY, two brothers: Franklin Anthony Hacker & Carolyn of Stinnett, Ky and James Toleman Hacker of Hyden, KY, four sisters: Rose Mary Wilson & Rev. Ray Wilson of Hyden, KY, Ailene Morgan & Cornelius of Wendover, KY, Gail Hacker of Hoskinston, KY and Ruth &  Albert  Wells, Jr. of Hoskinston, KY. Janice is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of other treasured  relatives and friends. You may send your condolences to the family @dwaynewalkerfuneralhome.com

2:00 P.M. - Thursday- Jan. 11, 2018 at the Stinnett Church of Christ at Hoskinston, KY
