The obituary of Mr. Christley "Chris" Maggard
Mr. Christley "Chris" Maggard of Smilax, Ky., departed this life on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center, Hazard, Ky. He was 85 years old. Chris was born March 24, 1932 the son of the late Floyd & Alice Cornett Maggard. Chris was the retired owner of Chris Maggard Trucking Co., Smilax, Ky. He was a faithful member of the Hyden Church of God & enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, mowing grass, and most importantly spending time with his family. Chris was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Polly Wells Maggard, parents; sisters; Versie Day, Bessie Boggs, Stella Joseph, Allie Landrum, Mary Maggard, & two brothers; Cova & Jim Maggard. Mr. Christley "Chris" Maggard leaves the following relatives surviving: two sons; Cova Maggard and wife, Carmen, George Maggard and wife, Lorraine, one daughter; Christy Sexton & husband, Jefffery, all of Wooton, Ky., one sister; Delia Cornett of London, Ky., eight treasured grandchildren; Patrick Couch & wife, Wanda, Kelly Couch, Christopher Maggard and wife, Cynthia, David Maggard, Ben Maggard, Allen Maggard, Clifton Maggard and wife, Krishena, Gwen Maggard Ogle and husband, Jeremy, six treasured great grandchildren; Cierra, Chandler, Makendrah, Lucas, Cecilia & Jack. The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere appreciation to Chris's caregivers; Teresa Pollard, Kenny Pennington, Austin Asher & to the staff of the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center for the sincere, professional & genuine care they provided Chris.
