Billy Bowling of Hyden, KY. was born at Hyden, KY., on June 16, 1957, the son of the late, Ford Bowling & Faye Hacker Bowling. He passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Mary Breckinridge-ARH Hospital in Hyden, KY. at the age of 60. Bill had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. Bill had a very distinguished career in law enforcement, former chief deputy sheriff of the Leslie Co. Sheriff Department, administrator & presenter of the D.A.R.E program in the Leslie Co. School System for 20 years. & served one term as Leslie Co. Jailer. Bill and his wife, Hallie privately funded and sponsored the DARE PROGRAM for several years when the government ceased appropriating funds for DARE. He was a devoted member of the Rockhouse Pentecostal Church, Hyden, KY. Bill enjoyed politics, sports-especially sotfball & fishing.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Jacob Ford Nettleton, brother-in-law, Donnie Herring & brother, Paul Bowling. He leaves the following relatives surviving, his loving & devoted wife, Hallie Jones Bowling, Hyden, KY., 3 beloved daughters, April Couch & husband, Rev. Teddy, Hyden, KY., Crystal Nettleton & husband, Rev. Danny, Radford, VA. & Heather Bowling, Hyden, KY., sisters, Wanda Powers & Lloyd, Roark, KY., Linda Bowlng, Hazard, KY., JoAnn Herring, Stinnett, KY., Kathy Napier & Bill, Burnside, KY., Debbie Turner & Doug, Hyden, KY. & Diana Mosley & Johnny, Hyden, KY. & 10 treasured grandchildren, Madison Couch, MaKenna Couch, Montana Couch, McKade Couch, Norah Nettleton, Savannah Nettleton, William Nettleton, Haley Hale, Kyra Hale & Noah Hale. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends survive.
