Wilson Baker born February 13, 1939 departed this life on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center, Hazard, KY. at the age of 78. Wilson was born at Cinda, Ky., the son of the late Farmer Baker & Minnie Morgan. Wilson was a retired coal miner having been employed by Whitaker Coal, Blue Diamond Coal Co., & Leeco Coal Co. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ, Smilax, Ky., and was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. Wilson was an avid University of Kentucky basketball & Cincinnati Reds supporter. He enjoyed music especially playing the guitar, banjo and mandolin. Wilson also enjoyed rabbit hunting & had a passion for his beagles. Wilson's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Wilson Baker was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ed & Corbin Baker, sisters; Bonnie, Opal Ella Ruth, Maggie, Gladys, Gladdis, Ida & Mabel. Mr. Wilson Baker leaves the following relatives surviving: his loving & devoted wife; Loretta Joseph Baker of Wooton, Ky., a beloved grandson whom he raised as his own son; Jason Melton & wife, Phyllis Melton of Yeaddiss, Ky., a beloved daughter; Sandra Wilcox & husband, Charles, of Smilax, Ky., three treasured grandchildren; Devin Charles Melton, Blaine Wilson Melton, Sierra Combs & husband, Cortney, one treasured great-granddaughter; Shania Combs, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
