Mr. Curtis Napier of Essie, KY. passed away at his residence on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the age of 81. Curtis was born at Roark, KY., on March 24, 1936, the son of the late, Willie Napier & the late, Milley Roark Napier. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation he had retired from the Leslie County Board of Education with 36 years of service as a bus driver & mechanic. Curtis was a member of the Bowens Creek United Baptist Church, Essie, KY. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, cutting grass & spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, his loving & devoted wife, Marlene Morgan Napier, a granddaughter, Angie Caldwell, brothers, Howard, Edgar, Orville & Leonard Napier & sister, Mae Napier. He leaves the following relatives surviving, 2 beloved daughters, Sharon Helton, Essie, KY. & Mary Bailey, Essie, KY., 1 brother, Eugene Napier & Ruth, Stinnett, KY., 3 sisters, Edith Morgan, Stinnett, KY., Louise Smith, Centerville, OH. & Ethel Collett, New Tazewell, TN., 5 grandchildren, Christopher Helton, Shane Helton, Dena Collett, Jessica Caldwell & Trena Caldwell, 10 great grandchildren, Byron Collett, Kristine Helton, Tyler Helton, Shae Helton, Dylan Barrett, Adin Brock, Adalise Caldwell, Curtis Gage Barrett & Marlee Barrett. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.
