Willie Clarence Maggard

Mr. Willie Clarence Maggard of Wooton, KY., passed away at the Wells Hospice Center, Hazard, KY. on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the age of 92. Clarence was born on September 17, 1925 at Wolfe Creek, Cinda, KY., the son of the late, Bige Maggard & the late, Alice France Maggard. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. By occupation Clarence was a coal miner & farmer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Clarence was a member of the Cutsihin Bible Church &  a former mason of the Hyden Lodge #664. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing & farming.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, son, Willis Maggard, grandson, Jerry Shaun Maggard, brothers, Ottis, Ocie, Kimber, Odell & Ernest & sisters, Sophia Lewis, Ophia Day, Dorothy Wells, Delphia Day & Ellen Fowler. He leaves the following relatives surviving, loving & devoted wife, Linda Wells Maggard, Wooton, KY., 3 sons, Clarence Maggard, Jr. & Faye, Wooton, KY., Jerry Maggard, Wooton, KY. & Ronnie Maggard & Carolyn, Wooton, KY., 3 daughters, Janice Osteen, Arcadia, FL., Carolyn Pace & Doug, Hyden, KY. & Jewel Westerfield & Woodrow, VA., 14 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.
