      Mrs. Dorothy Caldwell Gibson, widow of Gillis Gibson, departed this life on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Hyden Health and Rehab Center, Hyden, Ky.  She was 84 years old.  Dorothy was born on January 11, 1932 at Hyden, KY., the daughter of the late, Jackson "Jack" Caldwell & the late Mollie Mosley Caldwell. Dorothy had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. She was a member of the Couch's Fork Church of God at Bear Branch, KY. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to Church & singing & flowers & gardening. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, loving & devoted husband, Gillis Gibson, brother, Letcher Caldwell & sisters, Nettie Brock, Kathlene Gibson & Francis Sparks. She leaves the following relatives surviving, sons, Jeff Gibson & wife, Donna, Lily, KY., J.C. Gibson, Big Creek, KY. & Corbett Caldwell & wife, Linda, Big Creek, KY., daughter, Michelle Gibson Collins & Dexter, Brandenburg, KY., sisters, Amanda Sexton, London, KY. & Stella Howard, London, KY., 7 grandchildren, Amanda Taylor, Candis Fox, Jason Gibson, Rodney Caldwell, Brandon Caldwell, Jessica Collins & Joshua David Collins, 17 great grandchildren, also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.  The family of Dorothy Caldwell Gibson would like to this opportunity to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Hyden Health & Rehab Center for the compassionate & professional care they provided for Dorothy.
