Raleigh Morgan, age 98 of Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at his home. He was the son of the late Claude and Molly (Wooton) Morgan. Born to them on September 17, 1918, in Hyden, KY.
Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his wife Cinda (Smith) Morgan, his parents, one sister: Annalee Roberts, one brother: Oakley Morgan, and one grandchild William (Mike) Morgan and one Great-Grandchild Nickolas Morgan.
Raleigh served in Service Company 713th Tank Battalion Armored Flame Thrower Division having been Honorably Discharged as a Sergeant in the United States Army earning a Bronze Star in World War II, a member of the American Legion Post #88, a retired factory worker for General Motors and was a Deacon of Corinth Baptist Church in Corbin, KY.
He is survived by one son: William Douglas Morgan & wife Karen of Brookville, OH. One daughter: Carolyn Morgan of Columbus, OH. Two Grandchildren Mark Morgan and Marsha Morgan. Seven Great Grandchildren Hope Smith, Mitchell Morgan, Gracanne Morgan, Alex Morgan, Sarah Morgan, Amanda Morgan, and Hannah Morgan and one Great-Great Grandchild Adelynn Smith. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017, at The O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home, in Corbin, KY, with Rev. Lennie Strunk officiating.
Interment will follow Monday, September 11, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Tipp City, OH.
O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
