Mary JoAnn Simpson

Mary JoAnn Simpson of Asher, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the U.K. Medical Center, Lexington, KY. at the age of 66. Joann was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 24, 1950, the daughter of Virgie North Brunello & the late, Lehman Carnes. JoAnn had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, by occupation she was the produce manager for Save-A-Lot in Hyden & a former employee for Ben Frankin's in Hyden. She was affliated with the Mozelle Pentecostal Church at Mozelle, KY. JoAnn enjoyed taking care of her mother & gardening.

Mary JoAnn Simpson was preceded in death by her father, Lehman Carnes, her husband, Billy Simpson, grandparents, Rob & Mallie North, Aunt, Christine Wilson & Uncles, Melvin North & Rob Simpson. She leaves the following relatives surviving, loving & devoted mother, Virgie North Brunello, Asher, KY., step-son, Greg Simpson & wife, Rhoda, Asher, KY., brother, Robert Turner & Laverne, Mozelle, KY., uncles, Elvin North & Myrtle, Fred North & Dan North, aunts, June Hill & Addie North, special cousin, Randy North, 2 special grandchildren, Emma & Madison. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.

Saturday, September 2, 2017 @ 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.
