Elmer Griffie

Elmer Griffie was born on April 22, 1947 in Hazard, KY., the son of the late, Jack Griffie & Rosa Bolen Griffie. He passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY. at the age of 70. Elmer had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation he was a self-employed brick mason and was well known in Eastern KY
for his perfection, skill, and innovation for laying brick and block.  Elmer enjoyed working, watching nascar & especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, he leaves the following relatives surviving, loving & devoted wife, Connie Ward Griffie, Hyden, KY., 2 beloved daughters, Rhonda Hopewell & Tommy & Tonya Gilbert & Ryan, Hyden, KY., 2 brothers, Willie Griffie & Shirley, Georgia & Charles "Gabby" Griffie & Charlotte, Hyden, KY., 3 sisters, Lula Winters, Nora Vines & Raymond & Linda Carroll all of Georgia, grandchildren, Robert Lee Asher, Johnathon Britton Asher, Breezy Dixon & Scott, Dalton Gilbert & special granddaughter, Brianna Gilbert, great-grandchildren, Brylee Asher, Cashton Dixon & special great-granddaughter, Savannah Rose. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.
