Edith Smith

Edith Smith, was born on December 1, 1939, in Leslie County, KY., the daughter of the late, Henry Pennington & the late, Dorothy Buckhart Pennington. She passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Hazard Health & Rehab Center at the age of 77. Edith had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co., she was a devoted member of the Peter's Branch Church of Christ. Edith enjoyed spending time with her family & enjoyed her dogs.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harlan Smith, 2 sisters, Pearlie Buckhart & Delphia Buckhart & 1 granddaughter, Marrisa. She leaves the following relatives surviving, 2 sons, Henry Ricky Smith, Hyden, KY. & David Smith & Jossie, Yeaddiss, KY., 2 daughters, Dorothy Wright, Wooton, KY. & Pattie Smith, Hyden, KY., 15 grandchildren & 19 great-grandchildren. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.

The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their sincere heart-felt appreciation to the staff at the Hazard Health & Rehab for their sincere loving & caring. She considered them her second extended family.
