Chester D. Rogers, age 68 of Dayton, went Home to be with the Lord on March 28, 2017. He was born in Gabbard, KY on April 8, 1948 to the late Lumus and Elizabeth (Ledford) Rogers. In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Roberts; his niece, Deborah Hoskins; brothers-in-law, Orval and Sam Hoskins, Clarence Hoskins, Oscar Estep, Randy Roark and Truman Moses; sisters-in-law, Blanche Roark, Joan Moses and Margaret Rogers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Vanda Rogers; son, Todd "Fox" Rogers (Victoria Harper); daughter, Tiffany (Malachi) Smith; granddaughter, Ella Mae; siblings, Viola (Chester) Sandlin and Roy (Ruth) Rogers; brother-in-law, George Roberts; sisters-in-law, Joyce Hoskins, Fern Maxwell, Janet Estep, Fern (Kenneth) Caldwell, Carolyn (John) Collett, Velma Hoskins, Linda (Harold) Mays, Gerri (Jack) Taylor and Audrey (Floyd) Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Chester attended Northridge Free Will Baptist Church where he and Vanda have become part of a wonderful loving family.
Family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Northridge Free Will Baptist Church, 4800 Payne Ave., Northridge, OH where a celebration of life will begin at 7 PM. Additional visitation will be held immediately following the service.
On Saturday, April 1, family and friends will have a visitation at Stinnett Pentecostal Church in Stinnett, KY beginning at 6 PM. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 2 at 12 noon at the church with Rev. James Bowling, Jr. & Rev. Tim Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Flat Creek Cemetery, Leslie County, KY.
