Pauline Campbell

April 7, 1918 — February 27, 2017

Pauline Campbell, age 98 of Fairborn, passed away February 27, 2017.  She was born April 7, 1918 in Leslie Co., KY, the daughter of the late Harry and Ethel (Huff) Eversole.  Pauline was a graduate from Buckhorn HS in KY, and earned a master’s degree in teaching from Eastern Kentucky University.  She taught in the Leslie County Schools in KY before moving to Ohio and retired after 26 years of service from Wayne High School.  She was a member of the Ohio Education Association and the First Baptist Church in Fairborn, where she taught an Adult Ladies Sunday School class for several years.  She was the oldest of seven children, a brother Sidney and sister Irslee died in infancy.  Quentin, Hargis, Clyde and Kathleen lived to be adults but are all gone now.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Henson and Fred Campbell, infant son, Quentin Kenneth Henson, and a daughter, Patsy VanDyke.  Pauline is survived by two daughters, Irene (Glen) Haughey of Fairborn, Lois Jean (Bill) Valentine; 9 grandchildren, Yvonne Williams, Tina Andes, Jeffrey Haughey, Teresa Napier, Connie Stamper, Rod Valentine, Pam Cox, Nita Smith, Karen Wells, 10 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 4, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Rod Valentine officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service.  Burial will follow in the Byron Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the FISH Pantry of Fairborn, PO Box 1484, Fairborn, OH 45324.  Condolences may be made to the family at dwaynewalkerfuneralhome.com
