Merida Napier

Mr. Merida Napier of Hyden, KY. was born at Dryhill, KY. on April 24, 1923, the son of the late, Jimmy Napier & the late, Flara Hoskins Napier. He passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Wells Hospice Care Center, Hazard, KY. at the age of 93. Merida had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, WWII. By occupation he was a retired coal miner. He was a devoted member of the Grassy Branch Church of Christ, Busy, KY. He enjoyed gardening & loved attending senior citizens. 

Merida was preceded in death by his parents, step-dad, Russell Begley, loving & devoted wife, Frances Begley Napier, treasured grandson, Brandon Napier, beloved daughter & her husband, Carol Etta Napier Collett & Ricky Collett, 5 sisters, 1 brother & 3 step-sisters . He leaves the following relatives surviving, 4 beloved sons, Larry Napier, Hyden, KY., Donnie Napier & Donna,Walkerton, IN., Kenny Napier & Faye, London, KY. & Dennis Napier & Ruby, Tekonsha, MI., 7 treasured grandchildren, Brandy (Dave) Mills, Ricky Darrell Collett, Susan Napier, Bradley Napier, Amanda (Scottie) Smith, Amy (Jake) Boley & Jeremiah Collett & 4 treasured great-grandchildren. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.

Sunday, February 26, 2017 @ 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.
