Johnny Fouts, Jr. was born on February 20, 1948 passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Wells Hospice Center, Hazard, KY. at the age of 68. He was born in Leslie County the son of the late Johnny Fouts and Myrtle Day Fouts. Johnny was a retired coal miner having worked for 45 years in the coal industry having been employed by Blue Diamond Coal Co., Perry County Coal and Teco Coal Co. Mr. Johnny Fouts, Jr. was a member of the Smilax Church of Christ and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. Johnny had a passion for horses and was and was an avid horse lover, he enjoyed riding and showing horses. Johnny especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Johnny Fouts, Jr was preceded in death by his father: Johnny Fouts, Brother: Taylor, Sister: Martha Roberts, Sister-in-Law: Kathleen Fouts, Paternal Grandparents: Taylor and Linda Fouts, Maternal Grandparents: Monroe and Malinda Lewis Day and also a host of aunts, uncles. He leaves surviving his loving and devoted wife, Jeweldean Fouts of Smilax, KY, treasured mother: Myrtle Day Fouts of Smilax, KY, three beloved sons: Travis Maggard of Cushin. KY, Jerome "Doodie" Adams & Geri of Wooton, KY, Kenny Brian Fouts of Smilax, KY, three brothers: Russell Fouts of Yeaddiss, KY, Ellis Fouts & Goldie of Hyden, KY and Willis Fouts & Karen of Wooton, KY, two sisters: Linda Cornett of Keavy, KY Louise Coots & Robert Arnold of Smilax, Ky, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brother-in-law: Clayton Roberts, special nephew, Wayne Coots & Dixie, one uncle, Paul Day & Marie, two aunts, Lillian Joseph, Lois Hensley and a host of other relatives and friends.
