Richard David Melton

Richard David Melton was born on August 27, 1959, in Hyden, KY., the son of the late, Manuel Melton & the late, June Hensley Melton. He passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, KY. at the age of 57.Richard had been a resident of Letcher County for the past 6 months, prior to living in Morristown, TN. By occupation he was a industrial electrician for Koch foods in Morristown, TN. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Richard enjoyed playing golf & going to the beach & was an avid UK fan. 

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Ronnie, Larry & Sonny Melton, 1 sister, Betty & 1 brother-in-law, Jay Bowling. He leaves the following relatives surviving, 1 son, Jason Melton & Phyllis, Yeaddiss, KY., 3 brothers, Edd Melton & Sue, Clay County, KY., Donnie Melton & Sandra, Smilax, KY. & Glen Melton & Linda, Sizerock, KY., 3 sisters, Prudy Stewart & Reed, Jeremiah, KY., Deborah Pratt, Cornettsville, KY. & Mildred Bowling, Avawam, KY., 2 grandsons, Devin & Blaine Melton, extended family & life-long friend, Mary Ellen Manuel. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.

Sunday, January 29, 2017 @ 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.
