Ethel Johnson

Mrs. Ethel Bailey Johnson of Hyden, KY., was born on March 11, 1935 in Thousandsticks, KY., the daughter of the late Chester Bailey & the late, Lucrita Napier Bailey. She passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. at the age of 81. Ethel was a life-long resident of Leslie County. By occupation she was a sales clerk for Elam's Dept. Store, then store manager of Ben Franklin's Dept. Store and Family Dollar Store where she retired in 2011. Ethel was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church EPC in Hyden, KY. She enjoyed spending time with her son & grandson, her cat "Boog" & she enjoyed her flowers & quilting.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, loving & devoted husband, Will Johnson, Jr., brothers & sisters, Critt Bailey, Cleo Jones, Harold Bailey, Marion Bailey, Nell Worley, Rose Mitchell, Bess Mitchell, Walter Bailey & Fran Arioli. She is survived by one beloved son, William Edward Johnson & wife, Carolyn of Hyden, KY., one sister, Jean Maggard, Hyden, KY., one grandson, Bryan Edward Johnson, Lexington, KY., one great-grandson, Carter Benjamin Johnson, FL., two step-grandchildren, Cynthia Boggs, Columbia, KY. & Jeffery Boggs, Hyden, KY.,  special friends, Lois Begley & Hettie Langdon both of Hyden, KY.  Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.



FUNERAL:
Saturday, January 21, 2017 @ 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.
MINISTERS:

INTERMENT:
Hurricane Cemetery, Hyden, KY.
