Mrs. Betty Gibson Sandlin of Hyden, KY. wife of the late, Matt Sandlin was born on June 9, 1944, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the U.K. Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, KY., at the age of 72. She was born in Leslie County, KY the daughter of the late John S. Gibson and the late Mabel Sims Gibson. By occupation Betty was a homemaker, and former employee of L.K.L.P., Senior Citizens and Hazard Nursing Home.  She enjoyed sewing, and spending time with her loving daughter: Cricket and adored granddaughter: Emma Grace. Betty was a member of the Grace Brethren Chapel at Confluence, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents: Loving and devoted husband: Matt B. Sandlin, 2 Brothers: Denver Gibson and David Wayne Gibson and 1 sister: Imogene Beam.  She leaves surviving the following relatives: Loving Daughter: Karen "Crickett" Pennington of Hyden, KY, 2 Sisters: Vicky Lee & Larry of Leavenworth, IN, and Thelma Snelling of Salem, IN, 2 Brothers: Willie Gibson & Nancy of Pekin, IN and Clyde Gibson of Hyden, KY. 1 adored grandaughter: Emma Grace Pennington.  Betty leaves surviving a host of other treasured relatives and friends. 1:00 p.m. - Tuesday- Dec. 27, 2017 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home  in Hyden, KY
VISITATION:
5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. - Monday - Dec. 26, 2016 at the funeral home chapel.
