The obituary of Carty Elizabeth Morgan Duff
Mrs. Carty Elizabeth Morgan Duff born May 6, 1935 departed this life on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Mary Breckinridge ARH Hospital, Hyden, Ky. She was 81 years old. Carty was born in Leslie Co., Ky., the daughter of the late Marcus "Doc" Morgan & Della Collett Morgan. Carty was a homemaker & devoted member of the Stinnett Church of Christ, Hoskinston, Ky. She enjoyed fishing, 4 wheeling & most importantly spending time with her treasured family. Carty had a passion for community involvement & a sincere desire to help others. Carty and her husband, Lawrence, were charter members of the Stinnett Volunteer Fire Department & played an integral part in the organization in 1986. Carty was named the Leslie Co. Firefighter of the year in 2016 & was a recipient of the L.B. Stacy award. She had held every position in the fire department's Lady Auxillary, including President. Carty received her continuing education certification for 400 hours of fire fighters' training last week. She taught fire safety in local elementary schools numerous times. Carty served in the summer backpack program --a program providing meals to deserving families in Leslie Co. She was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel. Carty Elizabeth Morgan Duff was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; Don Morgan, Cecil Morgan, sisters; Meredith Collett, Eleanor Asher, & an infant sister; Gladys Morgan. Mrs. Carty Elizabeth Morgan Duff leaves the following relatives surviving; her loving and devoted husband; Lawrence Duff, to whom she was united in marriage to March 4, 1953, beloved twin sons; Coy Duff and wife, Elaine of Hoskinston, Ky., Marcus Duff and wife, Diana, of Hoskinston, Ky., beloved daughter; Sandra Kay Duff of Hoskinston, Ky., two sisters; Edith Castle of Bowling Green, Ky., Lillian Smith of Essie, Ky., six treasured grandchildren; Jon Duff, Jackie Johnson and husband, Jeff, Kacey Duff, Elizabeth LeighAnna Napier & husband, Kyle, Andrea Begley and husband, Tate, Marcus Lawrence Duff, treasured great-grandchildren; Jared Johnson, Maddie Duff, Joshua Johnson, Jocelyn Sizemore, Jaelyn Johnson, Tatum Begley, Will Begley , baby Napier to be born, a host of cherished nieces & nephews & special friend; Phyllis Mosley. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.
