Fern Chappell of Hyden, Ky., was born on February 5, 1928, at Wendover, KY., the daughter of the late, Marion Adams & the late, Alabam Coots Adams. She passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Hyden Health & Rehab Center, Hyden, KY. at the age of 88. Fern had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ, Hyden, KY. Fern enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking & especially spending time with her family.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents, loving & devoted husband, Harvey Chappell & a host of brothers & sisters. She leaves the following relatives surviving, 3 beloved sons, Harvey Chappell & wife, Debbie, Corbin, KY., Harold Chappell & wife, Verna, London, KY. & Freddie Chappell, London, KY., 2 beloved daughters, Mary Chappell, Hyden, KY. & Judy Brock & husband, Boyd, London, KY., 2 brothers, Oria Adams, Wendover, KY. & Donnie Adams & wife, Stephanie, Hyden, KY., 5 sisters, Janice Griffith, Wooton, KY., Janette Adams, California, Shirley Callahan, Wooton, KY., Nancy Howard & Benny, Covington, KY. & Daisy North, Stinnett, KY. 8 treasured grandchildren, Kristy Howard & Doyle, Jason Chappell & Leighann, Robin Shaliakhau & Andre, Freddie Allen Chappell, Daniel Bales & Anndraia, Shawna Larsen & Adam, Leighann Tincher & Susan Renee Chappell. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.
