James "Bloomer" Sams

March 31, 1948 — October 15, 2016

James Sams passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Cornettsville, KY at the age of 68 years. He was born March 31, 1948  in Perry County, KY the son of the  late Jasper Sams and the late Edna Nichols Sams.  He was a Coal Truck Driver and had been a resident of Leslie County since 1966.  Mr. James Sams was affiliated with the Big Creek Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed doing mechanic work on cars, driving, watching westerns and his dog "Tiny". Mt. James "Bloomer" Sams was preceded in death by his parents: Jasper and Edna Sams. He leaves surviving the following relatives: his loving and devoted wife: Barbara Sams of Wooton, KY, two sons: John Bentley of Wooton, KY, Anthony Caldwell & Nancy of Slemp, KY,, four daughters: Angela Sams of wooton, KY, Jamie Cornett & Dwayne of Yeaddiss, KY, Tori Renee Turner & Travis of Thousandsticks, Ky, and Audrey Cornett of Wooton, Ky, one sister: Norma Jean Napier of Hazard, KY, three Grandchildren: Kyzer Andrew Kilburn, Trevor Caldwell and Taylen Turner.  Mr. James Sams is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends. 1:00 p.m. - Thursday- October 20, 2016 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home in Hyden, KY
VISITATION:
6:00 p.m. - Wednesday- October 19, 2016 at the funeral home Chapel.
