The obituary of Mrs. Wilma Haley Brewer

God has led home His good and faithful servant, Wilma Haley Brewer, age 81, of 1335 Down Cutshin Road, Wooton, Kentucky.  She passed away, Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Cindi Wimsatt, in Springfield, Kentucky, after a long and brave battle. She started her journey on this earth on September 11, 1935.  Wilma was born to the union of Charlie and Bessie Chadwell Haley.  As a coalminer’s daughter, she grew up in Bulan, Kentucky in Perry County.  She attended school at Robinson Elementary and M.C. Napier High School.  She cherished her many childhood friendships and looked forward to school reunions every year.  She attended Berea College and returned to Perry County.  She worked at Mount Mary Hospital, Hazard ARH, and Hazard Nursing Home.  She married Charles Barton “Bud” Brewer on October 24, 1958.  They were married until his death on January 16, 1977.  She was retired from Hazard Nursing Home. Wilma was a member of Community United Wooton Presbyterian Church.  She loved watching birds and was an avid reader of Christian fiction and the Bible.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, brother and sister and her many friends and neighbors, and her beloved dog, Trixie.  Wilma also loved to watch game shows. Wilma was preceded in death by her Father – Charlie Haley, Mother – Bessie Chadwell Haley, Father-in-law – Charlie Brewer, Mother – in – law – Oma Creech Brewer, Husband –
Charles Barton Brewer, Brother – Billy Ray Haley, Nephew – Hubert Lee Williams and  Nephew – Barry Williams. Wilma is survived by her children: Darlene Campbell and Kelly of Wooton, KY,  Charles Ray Brewer and Elaine of Hyden, KY,  James Albert Brewer and Tami of Jacksonville, FL, Gary Wayne Brewer and Renee, Margaret Hatfield and McKenzie of Wooton, KY,  and Cynthia Lee Wimsatt and Patrick of Springfield, KY,  She leaves her adored grandchildren: Charles Dirk Brewer and  Ashley, Robert Barton Brewer, Katie Mae Brewer, Tess Elizabeth Brewer, Benjamin Wayne Brewer, Gwen Alyssa Brewer, Charley Katarina Brewer and Sarah Elizabeth Brewer, Sister – Alice Faye Haley Pennington and John, Sister – in – law – Beatrice Baker Haley. Nephews: Johnny Lee Pennington, Christopher Ray Haley, Gregory Barton Haley and her furry companion, Trixie, who was by her side at her passing. Wilma is also survived by a host of many brothers and sisters in Christ, family and many friends. Memorial donations may be made to Community United Wooton Presbyterian Church -P.O.
