The Obituary for Vernon Daniel BakerVernon Daniel Baker was born on December 7, 1964, in Hyden, KY., the son of Vernon Baker & the late, Reba Lewis Baker. He  passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the age of 51. Danny had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. Danny was a member of the Wooton Baptist Church, Wooton, KY. Danny was a body shop owner & worked for a short period as a coal miner. Danny loved working on cars and motorcycles, if it had an engine, he could fix it, if he could fix it and paint it red, it was ever better.   Danny served as the manager & editor of their family owned newspaper, the Leslie Co. News most recently. Danny was preceded in death by his loving & devoted mother, Reba Lewis Baker, he leaves the following relatives surviving, his father, Vernon Baker, Crab Orchard, KY., his loving & devoted companion of 18 years, Christy Napier, Hyden, KY., one beloved son, Shaun Trenton Lee Baker, Hyden, KY., one brother, David Allen Baker & (wife, Tammy), Crab Orchard, KY., one sister, Diane Iler & (husband, Arthur), Carmel, Indiana, treasured nieces & nephews, Jacob Adam Baker, Nicholas Allen Baker, Alexander Lewis Iler, Braiden Howard & Jacelyn Howard.
