Paul Douglas Melton

Paul Douglas Melton of Wooton, KY. was born on November 29, 1950, in Hyden, KY., the son of the late, Gordon Melton & the late, Dolly L. Hoskins Melton.  He passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the age of 65. Doug was a life-long resident of Leslie County, he retired from the coal industry, having worked as a safety director. Doug was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a member of the Wooton Presbyterian Church, Wooton, KY. He  enjoyed spending time with his family, loved taking care of his horses & working on his farm.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Ronnie Melton & Johnny Melton & father-in-law, Omer Maggard. He leaves the following relatives surviving, his loving & devoted wife, Virginia Maggard Melton, 2 beloved daughters, Kim Melton Cornett & husband, Scott of Pippa Passes, KY.  & Candace Melton Collett & husband, Chris of London, KY., 5 grandchildren, Dalton Scott Douglas Cornett, Haley Nicole Conley & Ryne, Gabriella Elise Melton, Chandler Wade Collett & Winston Cole Collett, 1 great-grandson, Duncan Carter Conley, 2 brothers, Rick Melton & Beverly & Gary Gibson & Dianna, mother-in-law, Mary Maggard, nephews, Kevin Melton, Jody Melton, Dougie Melton, James Melton, Ronnie Lee Melton,  John Melton, Michael Melton, Gary W. Gibson, Zack Gibson & Gary E. Gibson, nieces, Tina, Angie & Tracey, special nieces, Misty Hoskins & Sherry Fugate, special sister-in-law, Bonnie Melton, special sisters, Mary Lou Warfield, Rhonda Reid, Diana Cornett, Angie Morgan, Betty Sue Baker, Elaine Brewer & Raye Mosley, special friends, John & Teresa Gregory, Hailey Gregory & Tyler Gregory. Also a host of cousins, other relatives & friends survive.
