Robert (Bobby) Ray Nolan of Big Creek Kentucky was born July 1 1975 at the Red Bird Hospital at Beverly to Armilda Smith and Walter Nolan. Bobby passed away at the age of 41 on Monday, July the 18th at St. Joseph hospital in London, Ky.,  after fighting a courageous battle with a rare lung disease. Bobby went home to be with the Lord with his wife , kids , and family by his side. Bobby was a very special soul that was loved by everyone whom knew him. Bobby graduated Red Bird High School in 1994. He was a talented student athlete who excelled at basketball and math . He was known to be a talented hard worker, working hard to provide for his family. He began working as a carpenter at the age of eighteen ,then later was a coal miner until his illness prevented him from doing so. Bobby retired at Teco Coal where he was a Mine Foreman. Many of those who worked with him had so much respect and admiration for him . He enjoyed working in the mines especially the time he worked along side his brother Cleveland. Bobby was married to the love of his life in 1997, Lisa Marie Hall. The two were inseparable , and best friends . Bobby enjoyed everything about the outdoors. He loved hunting , fishing , and hunting dogs . He was an excellent marksman and loved archery. He loved to hunt and fish , he loved to teach not only his children but others to appreciate and love the sport and the outdoors . His children and his grandchildren were his life, Hadlee and Bailey made him smile. He loved and had a special bond with his brothers , whom were always there for him. Bobby was a die hard UK basketball fan . Him and his wife watched every game together . Bobby's other hobbies were gardening and helping his wife build flower beds and grow flowers. He loved to ride in the mountains with his family during the fall time. Bobby is survived by his loving and devoted wife Lisa, His mother Armilda Smith , father Walter Nolan, Two daughters Whitney Elam and Kelly Nolan, One son in law whom he loved like his own son Dee Brock. One son Isaac Bobby Nolan. One sister Loretta Veach. Four brothers Sylvester and Tracy Nolan , Cleveland and Misty Nolan, Johnny Ray Smith and Kara Kelly , Tyler Hall and Jessica. Two granddaughters ,Hadlee Brock and Bailey Brock, One unborn grandson . His beloved nieces Chelsea Nolan, Sydney Nolan, Samantha Nolan , Laura Asher, Alli, Cassie, Zoey, and Ruby Hall, and his heart and soul Kadence Nolan. Also his mother-in-law Sheila Hall and father-in-law Roy Lee Hall. Bobby was also survived by a special friend who was always there for him and enable him to continue to enjoy hunting William Collett. He was also survived by a special cousin Bryan Smith. Along with many other cousins, family, former coworkers and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Mandawala whom was with him through this journey and took the time to call him at home. Also to the nursing staff at St. Joseph of London whom showed the love for him as a person, and not just a patient. A special thanks too Pam Fugate RN who has been with us through out this battle and at the end was there to comfort the family.

Saturday, July 23, 2016 @ 12:30 P.M. at the Bowens Creek Baptist Church, Essie, KY.
