Mr. Seldon Hensley born December 17, 1915 departed this life on Friday, July 1, 2016 at his residence-Hyden, Ky. Seldon was born at Cinda, Kentucky, the son of the late James Hensley, Judy Blevins Hensley and his Step-Mother: Ollie Hensley. He was 100 years, 6 months, & 14 days old. Seldon served in the 3C's in 1934, 1935 & 1936. Seldon had a very prominent career in business & was the owner of several business entities. He was the former owner of a coal trucking company, a furniture company, logging business, & was a skilled mechanic. Seldon believed in the Free Pentecostal Church of God faith & was a faithful & devout member of the Avawam Church of God, Avawam, Ky. He enjoyed hunting with dogs, fishing & most importantly was dedicated to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Seldon was preceded in death by his loving & devoted wife; Carmol Morgan Hensley; one beloved son; Harold Hensley, one infant daughter; Lena Hensley, one beloved grandson; Jimmy Michael Hensley; one beloved great-grandson; Shawn Caldwell. two beloved son-in-laws; Clyde Vance & Willie Callahan; brother & sister-in-law; Vellis Hensley & Molly Hensley, brother; Burnam Blevins; brother-in-law; Delbert Woods, three sisters; Bernice Melton, Edith Davenport, & Easter Hensley. Mr. Seldon Hensley leaves the following relatives surviving; two beloved sons; Ralph Hensley & Pat, of Franklin, Ohio, James Young & Vanessa of Germantown, Ky.; two beloved daughters; Bobbie Vance of Wooton, Ky., Bernice Callahan of Hazard, Ky., one brother; Delvor Hensley & Easter of London, Ky.; sisters; Juanita Wilson of Ohio, Marie Asher of Hyden, Ky., Mae Woods of Hyden, Ky., Geneva Amburgey of Ohio; & Eulia Dalton of Ohio; 13 treasured grandchildren; Judy, Tronda, Teresa, Conway, William, Deanna, Sherry, Shelia, Shelly, Harold, James, Casey, Chantel, 29 great grandchildren, and 29 great, great, grandchildren.
