Obituary for Callie Eva Miniard Day

Surrounded by her loving family, Callie Eva Miniard Day passed from this earth on May 16, 2016, at the age of 94. Mrs. Callie Miniard Day was born at Cinda, Ky., on January 8, 1922, the daughter of the late Hobart Miniard & Rebecca Maggard Miniard. Callie was preceded in death by her parents;Hobart and Rebecca Miniard, her brothers; Hobart Jr., Dillard and Leslie Miniard, her sister Iva Miniard Turner, her loving and devoted husband of 70 years Roscoe Day and daughter & son-in-law, Irene Day Wax & her husband, Don.

Callie enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and most of all spending time with her family. She was a member of the Church of Christ and had been a lifelong resident of Leslie County. She leaves surviving four children, Edward Day of Harrodsburg; Ulene and husband Fred Lewis of Hyden; Arlene and husband Dr. Hartley Alsgaard of Yankton, South Dakota and Orlene McEachern of Harrodsburg. She will be missed by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 8 great–great grandchildren. Callie also leaves behind one sister Carol Ison, and a host of other nieces and nephews.
