Mary Nell Howard

Mary Nell Howard wife of James Howard was born on January 13, 1945, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Hyden Health & Rehab Center, Hyden, KY. Mary was born at Beverly, KY the daughter of the late Otis Howard and the late Vina Nolan Howard. Mary graduated from Union College with her masters degree in education and was employed by the Leslie County Board of Education.  She worked as an elementary school teacher at Beech Fork, Hyden and Hayes Lewis  Elementary for 13 years.  Mary enjoyed sewing, working puzzles and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Vina & Otis Howard, two brothers: Charlie Shanks and Warren Fee, one sister: Barbara Baker. She leaves surviving the following relatives:her loving and devoted husband: James Howard of Mozelle, KY, one son: James A. Howard of Mozelle, KY, two brothers: Wayne Howard & Rosie of Asher, Ky, Robert Gayle Shanks & Sharon of Asher, KY one sister: Effie Carol Howard of London, KY. Mary is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
