Maxine Asher

Maxine Asher, of Hyden, Ky. was born on November 15, 1953, departed this life on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Mary Breckinridge-ARH Hospital in Hyden, KY. at the age of 62.  Maxine was a life-long resident of Leslie County and had been affiliated with the Church of God.  Maxine received her B.A. from Cumberland College, her masters' degree from Union College & her Rank I from Eastern Kentucky University.  She had a very distinguished career in education. Maxine worked thirty years as an educator, having taught at Hyden Elementary. Maxine enjoyed traveling, movies, music and concerts, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.  Maxine was preceded in death by her loving & devoted parents, Levi & Rosa Holland Asher. Maternal Grandparents: Suda Bowling and Levi Holland, Paternal grandparents: Elige and Dallie Asher. She was also preceded in death by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Maxine is survived by her beloved twin sister: Marlene Asher Fields. and Leonard of Hyden, KY, sister: June Roberts and Bob of Frankfort, KY, three brothers: George Asher & Evelyn of Wooton, Ky, Winford Asher of Somerset, Ky and Lige Earl "Bud" Asher of Wooton, KY, special nieces and nephews: Brandon Fields & Crystal and their children Alli & Addi of Hyden, KY, Rosalind Fields & Robert of Hazard, KY , also a host of other treasured nieces and nephews.
