Eliza Asher

Eliza Asher, of Hyden, KY.,formerly of Stinnett, KY.,  was born on September 1, 1915, in Hyden, KY, the daughter of the late, Alfred Young & Mallie Howard Young. She passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Hyden Health & Rehab Center at the age of 100 years, 7 months & 11 days. Eliza was a life-long resident of Leslie County, by occupation she had worked for Frontier Nursing Service as a cook & also had worked in housekeeping. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church at Essie, KY., Eliza was a jack of all trades, an historian & a captivating story teller, she enjoyed her skills as a mid-wife,  (delivering babies), sewing, carpentry, gardening, cooking & enjoyed spending time with her family.

Eliza was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marcus Asher, one son, Billy Fields & wife, Mary Alice, one daughter, Tabitha Conway & husband, Bill Conway, one granddaughter, Sharon Gail Totues & one brother, Dan Young

She leaves the following relatives surviving, one beloved daughter, Ruth Turner, Corbin, KY., two special granddaughters, Sonja Pennington & Lana Collett & husband, Wayne, Hyden, KY. Also a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren survive.

Friday, April 15, 2016 @ 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, KY.

Owl's Nest Cemetery, Hyden, KY.
