Wiley Barrett

Wiley Barrett, 71 husband of Brenda, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center, Hazard, KY.  He was born in Leslie County on Dec. 15, 1944 the son of the late Taylor Barrett and the late Mallie Collett Barrett. By occupation Wiley was a retired coal miner and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. Wiley was affiliated with the Lower Bowens Creek Methodist Church at Essie, KY.  He was a honey bee keeper, and enjoyed hunting, 4-wheel and ATV riding and farming and tending to his hogs and chickens. He was preceded in death by his parents: Taylor and Mallie Barrett, three brothers: Harrison, Joe and Tom Barrett, four sisters: Opal Bailey, Elizabeth Collett, Ada Whitehead, and Bernice Holland. Wiley leaves surviving the following relatives: his loving and devoted wife: Brenda Holland Barrett of Essie, KY, son: Austin Winfred Barrett of Essie, KY and daughter: Samantha Ashley Barrett of Essie, KY.  Wiley also leaves surviving a host of treasured cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. 2:00 P.M. - Friday- March 25, 2016 at the Lower Bowens Creek Methodist Church at Essie, KY
