Maudie Strong

Mrs. Maudie Strong, born March 20, 1927 of Short Creek Road, Hyden,  KY., widow of Bob Strong, departed this life on Friday March 18, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 28 days old. She was born in Leslie County the daughter of the late Martha North Mosley. Maudie was a life-long resident of Leslie County and was a devoted member of the Stinnett Gap Church of God.  She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother & great, great grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. Maudie loved quilting, going hunting & finding flea market treasures, yard sales, and attending church as long as she was able. She was preceded in death by her husband: Bob Strong, mother: Martha Mosley, step-father: Chester Mosley, two sons: Eugene North and Truman Strong, five step-sons: James Strong, Ray Strong, Kelly Strong, George Strong, and Henry Strong, two step-daughters: Lottie Strong Lewis and Ruth Strong McVey, two sisters: Elizabeth Mosley Napier and Elva Mosley Fontana, two brothers: James Mosley and Cecil Witt, five step-brothers: Homer Mosley, Corbet Mosley, Marion Mosley, Carlos Mosley and Levi Mosley, one step-sister: Edith Mosley Smith. Maudie leaves surviving the following relatives three sons: Hobert Strong and Gail of Oliver Springs, TN, Michael Strong and Penny of Hamilton, OH, Paul Strong and Mechelle of Hillsboro, OH, four daughters: Dorothy Wagner of Hyden, KY, Jacqueline Bentley and Ben of Hyden, KY, Opal Estep of Lebanon, OH and Nancy Hibbitts and Stanley of Hyden, KY. She also leaves numerous grand, great-grand and great-great grandkids as well as friends and neighbors to mourn her passing.
