Rev. Bob Murr, age 87 of Yeaddiss, KY., passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center. Rev. Bob Murr was born in Colorado, the son of the late Amos Murr and the late Margaret Williams Murr. Bob was ordained as a minister in 1951. He served for many years in various positions at Camp Nathanael in Emmalena, KY. He enjoyed being out in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky and taking pictures, and was blessed with wit and a good sense of humor. He served for many years as a water safety officer for the American Red Cross. Bob was well known on radio as “the voice” of Camp Nathanael in his responsibility as host of Camp Nathanael’s weekly radio program. He also taught each week as the host of Moments of Truth, a Sunday morning radio outreach. Bob was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel, and received the Kentucky Admiral Award. Rev. Bob Murr was preceded in death by his parents Amos & Margaret Murr, first wife and mother of children: Lillian Murr, one sister: Margaret and one brother Richard Murr. He leaves surviving his loving and devoted wife, Carol Murr of Wooton, KY, two sons: Timothy J. Murr & Marla of Muskogee, OK, Mark David Murr & Linda of Virginia, one daughter: Melody DuBois & Gary of Berea, KY, one sister: Florence Burch & Lester of Colorado. Rev. Bob Murr is also survived by nine grandchildren and a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
