Leta Salyers

Leta Woods Salyers born February 22, 1938 departed this life on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center.  She was 77 years old.  Leta was born at Kaliopi, Ky., the daughter of the late Hershel Woods and Ollie North.  Leta was a homemaker, & faithful member of the Holiness Church. She enjoyed horses, cooking out and camping, attending yard sales, gospel singing, attending church, & especially spending time with her family.  Leta was a life long resident of Leslie and Clay County.  Mrs. Leta Woods Salyers was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Raymond Salyers, her parents, sisters; Emma Miller, Lula Salyers, Sadie Holland, son-in-law; Alonzo Kenneth 'Two Toes" Smallwood, father and mother-in-law; Wallace and Ora Woods, brothers-in-law; Doris Holland, Dallas Bowling, Roscoe Salyers, Herbert Woods, Jr., Bill Bentley, sisters-in-law; Ann Jones & Margaret Smallwood.  Mrs. Leta Woods Salyers leaves the following relatives surviving: two beloved sons; Ricky Salyers & Sandra of Big Creek, Ky., Randy Salyers and Carol of London, Ky., four beloved daughters; Sandra Gail Couch and Melvin of Big Creek, Ky., Kathy Renee Collett of Big Creek, Ky., Candy Gail Sizemore & David of Ewing, Virginia, Keisha Bowling & Jonathan of London, Ky., one brother; Hershell Woods, Jr., of Bob Fork, Ky., five sisters; Ivalee Collins & Caleb of Hollins Fork, Ky., Janice Ruth Bowling, Viney Bentley of Hollins Fork, Helen Medlin & Jimmy of Georgia, Jean Lawson & James of Bob Fork, Ky., seven granddaughters; Kenya Allen & Stephen, Cassandra Hill & Dean, Stephanie Mitchell & Shannon, Ariona Salyers, Latesa Sizemore, Tinnley Bowling, Alexa Bowling, eight grandsons; special grandson whom she raised as her own; Jake Brock, Keith Salyers & Melinda, Ricky "Bub" Salyers & Laura, Stan Salyers& Brittany, Tyrone Salyers & Stephanie, Chris Rock, Kyler Sizemore, Ryan Sizemore, twelve great grandchildren; Kenton, Hannah, Tyra, Raya, Jy, Torrie Lynn, Keighan, Caiden, Brayden, Kaelyn, Ciarra, Paisley and a host of other treasured relatives and friends.

 1:00 p.m. - Tuesday - February 9, 2016 at the Hal's Fork Pentecostal Church, Bear Branch, Ky
