Oma Wilson, 88, of N. Charleston, SC and formerly of Yeaddiss, KY passed away peacefully Sunday, January 24, 2016 at her home in N. Charleston, South Carolina. Born on March 19, 1927 in Yeaddiss, KY, she was the daughter of the late Malcom Wilson and Flora Miniard Wilson Joseph. Oma and Stanley met in Harlan KY, and were married in 1954. After a period of time of living in Dayton, Ohio, Oma and her husband Stanley returned to Kentucky where they built Wilson’s Super Market and Gas station which they ran for a number of years. She was also involved with other business ventures throughout her productive years. She was a member of Beechfork United Methodist Church and Cutshin Bible Church before moving to South Carolina in 2005. While in Kentucky she was active in the Leslie County Homemakers, the Senior Center at Wooton, KY, and various activities at Cutshin Bible Church. She and her husband found their new church in 2005, and faithfully attended Wando Woods Baptist Church in N. Charleston, South Carolina and were active members of the Wando Woods “Keenagers” group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stanley Wilson, her son, Wilburn Wilson, and Sisters Gladys Fee and America Cox. Survivors include daughters: Peggy Wilson Williams (Robert Williams) and Carla Wilson Bailey of North Charleston, SC. Daughter-in-law: Diane Wilson of Morristown, TN. Sisters: Marie Burnett of Harlan, KY, Doshia Shields of Hazard, KY, Charlene Colona of Punta Gorda, Fl. Brothers: Eugene Joseph of Yeaddiss, KY, Wiley Joseph and John R. Joseph of Dayton, OH. Grandchildren: David Wilson (Stephanie Wilson) of Morristown, TN, Anne Marie Wilson of Knoxville, TN, Christina Bailey of Portland, OR, and Rachel Bailey of Columbia, SC. Great grandchildren: Matthew, Jonathan, and Elizabeth Wilson of Morristown, TN and Caiden Kozlin of Knoxville, TN. and many other beloved family members and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Oma Wilson will be conducted on Thursday, January 28th at 4:30 p.m. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home in Hyden, KY http://www.walkerfuneralhomesllc.com/ .

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The interment service where she will be joined with her husband, will be conducted January 29th at 11:00 a.m. at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, 6890 Danville Rd., Nicholasville, Ky.
