Zola Wooton Roberts, of London, KY., formerly of Hyden, KY., was born on October 1, 1928, in Hyen, KY., the daughter of the late, Elijah Wooton & Mary Woods Wooton. She passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 at her residence in London, KY., at the age of 87. Zola had been a resident of London, KY. since 1998 before that a life-long resident of Hyden, KY. Zola was a former employee for the Leslie County School System. She also served as the office administrator & deputy sheriff in the Leslie Co. Sheriffs office from 1964-1968 & 1982-1986, under the administrations of her her beloved husband, former sheriff, Henry Roberts. She was a member of the Swiss Colony Baptist Church, London, KY. Zola enjoyed fishing, traveling, listening to Bluegrass music & especially spending time with her family.
Zola was preceded in death by her loving & devoted husband, Henry Roberts,1 brother, Russell Wooton, 1 sister, Mabel Gibson, a host of half-brothers & sisters & son-in-law, Bill Roberts
She leaves the following relatives surviving: 1 son, Augustus "Buddy" Roberts & Delana, Hyden, KY., 1 step-son, James Marvin Roberrts & Cheryl, Louisville, KY., 3 daughters, Marietta Roberts, London, KY., Bernadine Terry & Jim, Middletown, Oh & Phylliss Ann Cross & C.L., Bloomfield, Michigan, 1 brother, Dan Wooton, Hyden, KY., 4 grandchildren, Carey Lamar Cross, Christopher Wayne Roberts, Link Tyrell Terry & Justin Henry Roberts & 3 great-grandchildren, Bailey Roberts & Brady Roberts & Belle Roberts, also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.
