Len Griffie

The Obituary of Mr. Len Richard "Fruitpole" Griffie Mr. Len Richard " Fruitpole" Griffie born August 17th 1953 departed this life on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the U.K. Medical Center, Lexington, KY.  He was 62 years old.  Len was born at Hyden, Ky., the son of the late Earl Griffie & Martha Jones Griffie.  Len spent most of his adult life in Leslie and Clay county KY. Len was affiliated with the Baptist Faith.  Len was a masonry brick-layer by occupation and enjoyed playing horseshoes, gardening, NASCAR, UK Basketball, and spending time with his family. Mr. Len Richard Griffie was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Griffie & Martha Jones Griffie brother; Johnny Griffie & sister; Christine Stewart. Mr. Len Richard Griffie leaves the following relatives surviving: mother of his son; Linda Sandlin North, sons; Ricky Len Griffie & wife, Stephanie, of Hyden, KY, Len Griffie & Wife Nealie of Goochland, VA, Robert Griffie & John, of Goochland, VA, & Jeremy Acock of GA, step-daughter; Pamela Guthrow & Scott of Richmond, VA, step-son; Joe Cotner of Goochland, VA. 6 Sisters; Carol Cobb & Larry of McDonough, GA, Pat Cheek & Steve of McDonough, GA, Gayle Jackson & Clyde of Irvine, Ky, Mary Hill of GA, Donna Gilbert & Glenn of Hyden, KY, & Annette Jones & Kenneth of Bear Branch, KY., special niece; Sherry Davidson & husband, Sonny,  special sister-in-laws; Jessie Mosley & Husband Wade, Nikki Lewis & Tim;  14 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren as well as a host of other treasured relatives and friends.  

FUNERAL SERVICES 2:00PM – Wednesday – November, 25, 2015 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, KY.
