Linda Ethel Woods Banks of Lily, KY., was born on March 21, 1933 at Thousandsticks, KY. the daughter of the late, Jim Woods & Peggy Gay Woods. She passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 at her residence at Lily, KY. at the age of 82. Linda had been a resident of Lily, KY. for the past 15 years & also lived in Cumberland, KY. Linda was a member of the Presbyterian Church in London, KY. She was a self-taught seamstress, a skilled woods craftman with an entrepreneurial spirit. She was employed by the Harlan County Public Library as an Library Assistant/Bookmobile Librarian. Proud owner of the Junction Luncheon Restaurant at Bledsoe, KY. A deeply admired employee of Shakers Night Club at Cumberland, KY. She was a valued member of the Gourment Readers Book Club of Corbin, KY. A homemaker, a mother and grandmother to many. Her childhood memories will live on forever in a short story collection of her written works. She loved her family and was full of life and laughter. Sadly on the morning of November 16th, the Lord called her home. She will be greatly missed by many forever
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband & father of her children, Bill Nolan, Jr. & 2nd husband, Larry Banks, grandson, Sgt. Jonathan Russell Howard & siblings, Kenneth Woods, Dennis Woods, Felix Woods, JoAnn, Merkie, Mable Keen, Hattie Jones, Nettie Bowling & Edith Asher.
She leaves the following relatives surviving, 4 sons, Kenneth Nolan, Lily, KY., Larry Nolan & Zola, Corbin, KY, Bill Nolan III & Sandy, Bledsoe, Ky. & James Nolan & Serena, Hyden, KY., 9 daughters, Lavonne York & Doug, London, KY., Linda Veach & Joe , Corbin, KY., Karen Nolan, Corbin, KY., Carolene McKnight & Herman, Lily, KY., Lena Helton & Rick, Harlan, KY., Maudie Ann Barger & Wally, Hyden, KY., Evelyn "Ellie" Nolan, Corbin, KY., Kathy Dinsmore & Keith, Lily, KY. & Dotty Nolan, Lily, KY., 2 sisters, Lila Ruth Keen, Dryhill, KY. & Oda Bowling, Big Creek, KY., 19 grandchildren, Chad Nolan, Bradley Nolan, Rebecca York, Kevin Nolan, Heather Nolan, Rachael Cornett, Matthew Cornett, Sarah Veach, Bethany Nolan, Tonya Leger, Jamie Maiden, Ronnie Nantz, India Barger Kirstein, B.J.
