Billy Joe Lewis Mr. Lawrence Maggard of Wooton, KY., was born August 24, 1929 in Hyden, KY., the son of the late Orie Maggard and Mae Callahan Maggard. He departed this life on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. at the age of 86. Lawrence was a life-long resident of Leslie County. By occupation he was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Smilax Church of Christ. He enjoyed farming, small engine repair, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Oma Maggard; children: Bonnie Belinda and Clarence; brothers: Larkin, Floyd and Ray Maggard and sisters: Stella Johnson and Zola Maggard. Mr. Lawrence Maggard leaves the following relatives surviving: sons: Lonnie Keith Maggard and Donna of Smilax, KY., Lawrence Jr. Maggard and Bobbie Jo of Frankfort, KY. and Thomas Edward Maggard of Wooton, KY.; daughters: Laura Jean Hoskins and James of Hyden, KY., Linda Carol Spencer and Danny of Wooton, KY., Lelia Mae Walters and Eugene of Trenton, OH., Rita Wooton and Terry of London, KY., Patricia Minnix and Anthony of Frankfort, KY. and Teresa Ann Maggard of Williamsburg, KY.; brothers: Issac Maggard of Owenton, KY and Thomas Maggard of Manchester, KY.; sister: Lillie Mae Caldwell of Yeaddiss, KY.; special friend: Elvin Joseph; 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

FUNERAL: Wednesday, November 18, 2015 @ 1:00 P.M. at the Smilax Church of Christ, Smilax, KY.

INTERMENT: Hensley Cemetery, (Coon Creek), Wooton, KY.
