The obituary of Mr. Kermit Couch Mr. Kermit Couch born December 5, 1942, departed this life on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center in Hazard, Ky. He was 72 years old. Kermit was born at Bull Creek, Thousandsticks, Ky., the son of the late Estil Couch & Gladys Shepherd Couch. Kermit was a retired coal operator & master mechanic. He was a devoted member of the Hyden Church of God, Hyden, Ky. Kermit had a very distinguished career in public service. He served as co-chairman of the Leslie Co. Board of Education & was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel & honorary state treasurer. Kermit enjoyed mechanic work as a hobby. He was a life -long resident of Leslie Co., residing at Hyden, Ky., at the time of his death. Mr. Kermit Couch was preceded in death by his parents, one beloved son; Keith Ray Couch, three brothers; Eugene Couch, Albert Couch & Adren Couch. Mr. Kermit Couch leaves the following relatives surviving: his loving and devoted wife, Betty Helen Woods Couch, whom he was united in marriage to on June 1, 1964. one son; William Keven Couch & Peggy of Bonnyman, Ky., two daughters; Mary Katherine 'Kathy" Smith & Mark of Mount Sterling, Ky., Kimberly Eldridge & Todd of Hyden, Ky., one brother; Arville Couch & Van of Milford, Ohio, two sisters; Mary Clem & Bill of Williamsburg, Ohio, Shirley Theaderman of New Richmond, Ohio, twelve treasured grandchildren; Megan Couch, Tessa Couch, Brittany Miller, Kiana Couch, Keisha Raye Couch, Cameron Smith, Katelyn Smith, Cheyenne Couch, Becky Eldridge, Jordan Blevins, Matthew Blevins, Victoria Eldridge & a host of other relatives and friends.
TIME AND PLACE OF FUNERAL: 12:00 p.m. - Tuesday - November 17, 2015 at the Hyden Church of God, Hyden, Ky.
OFFICIATING MINISTER: Pastor Wayne Bowling VISITATION: 6-9:00 p.m. - Monday - November 16, 2015 & from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the Hyden Church of God, Hyden, Ky.
PLACE OF INTERMENT: Couch Family Cemetery, Bull Creek Road, Hyden, Ky.
