The Obituary for Mrs. Maydell Bowling Officiating Minister: Rev. Billy Joe Lewis Mrs. Maydell Bowling, of 6206 Crab Orchard Rd. Stanford, KY., formerly of Hyden, was born on May 5, 1924 in Mills Springs, KY., the daughter of the late, William Junis Gossage & Ozella Pearl Marcum. She departed this life on Tuesday July 7, 2015 at the Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation in Danville, KY. at the age of 91. Maydell had been a resident of Stanford, Ky. for the past 8 years. Maydell retired from the U.S. Postal service with 23 years of distinguished service. She was a devoted member of the Watts Chapel Baptist Church in Crab Orchard, KY. Maydell enjoyed traveling quilting, sewing, reading gardening, & cherished time spent with family especially her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: William Junis Gossage and Ozella Pearl Marcum; loving & devoted husband: John Gilford Bowling; beloved son: Danny Gordon Bowling and six brothers and one sister. Mrs. Maydell Bowling leaves the following relatives surviving: sons: Michael Bowling of Stanford, KY.;Larry James Bowling & Norma of Yeaddiss, KY.; daughter: Judy Hendrix & Glen of Stanford, KY.; 4 grandchildren: Monica Marie Parker & Michael, Jill Elaine Shelley & Steven, Abigal Bowman & Alan, Chad Bowling; 4 great-grandchildren: Zachary Parker, Robert Alan "Trace" Bowman III, Margaret Ann Bowman and Sarah Elizabeth Bowman.
