The obituary of Mrs. Sherry Rice Davis Mrs. Sherry Rice Davis born November 4, 1952 departed this life on Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Ky. She was 62 years old. Sherry is the daughter of Drucilla Sizemore Combs and the late Charles Lindburgh Rice. Sherry had a distinguished career in the medical profession as a well-respected certified nursing assistant for the Eastern Kentucky Veteran's Center in Hazard, Ky. Sherry spent her formative years in Leslie Co., and a been a resident of Hyden since 2000 moving back from Tennessee. She enjoyed gardening & cherished the time she spent with her family especially the children and grandchildren. Sherry was a member of the Rockhouse Baptist Church and affiliated with the Rockhouse Penetecostal Church. Mrs. Sherry Rice Davis was preceded in death by her father; Mr. Charles Lingburgh Rice. Mrs. Sherry Rice Davis leaves the following relatives surviving: loving and devoted mother; Drucilla Sizemore Combs of Hyden, Ky., two beloved sons; Charles Jeffrey Smith & fiance Leslie Feltner of Hyden, Ky., Christopher Don Smith & wife, Jamie of Jackson, Ky., twin daughters; Teri & Tara Davis of Hyden, Ky., two brothers; Lonnie Rice & wife, Melissa of Big Creek, Ky., Gary Dean Rice of Hyden, Ky., five grandchildren; Andreya Dru Smith, Erin Elizabeth Smith, Shelby Jean Davis, Reed Alexander Miles Smith, Kayleigh Stidham and a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
